Commercial Auto Insurance

Business auto insurance is different than personal vehicle insurance. In many cases, a business auto insurance policy is meant to cover a larger number of vehicles than a personal auto insurance policy.

Business auto insurance will also cover the liability from accidents or claims that extend to your business as a whole. Your personal auto policy can't do that.

Adequate coverage means having higher coverage levels to protect your business (not to mention you personally) from claims—even those that are unwarranted.

What should my business auto policy cover?

Commercial auto insurance can provide coverage for all of these risks:

  • Comprehensive and Collision
  • Emergency Roadside Assistance
  • Liability
  • Medical Payments
  • Loss of Earnings
  • Uninsured Motor Vehicle

Who needs such comprehensive coverage?

Business owners and employees often drive to and from clients, or vendors, on daily deliveries, irregular duties, or errands as requested.

While this may help keep sales on the rise, when your employee uses a vehicle for business purposes, their personal auto policy coverage NO LONGER APPLIES in the event of an accident, property damage, or fatality caused by one of your employees.

This is a serious distinction many business owners either don’t know, or try not to think about. Ultimately, business owners (and their livelihoods) are better protected under a commercial auto policy.
