In 2013, I reconnected with a friend from high school, Ame Coyle. She and her husband Jason had just moved back to Spokane, and they were in the process of opening their own gym on the North Side. They didn’t have any clients yet, so they invited me to join the gym. I could join for free, as long as I committed 100% to getting healthy.
Since I joined the gym in January 2014, Coach Ame has been amazing in helping me on a journey that has changed my life. Every day spent in the gym is a day spent with a family of people that are trying to better their lives and the lives of everyone around them.

Ame's Easy Roasted Vegetables
A common complaint I hear when suggesting clients increase their veggie intake is that they simply don’t like the taste of vegetables. Roasting these veggies brings out their natural sweetness, a gorgeous caramel coloring, and a slight crust that will convert even a picky toddler—we have the toddler to prove it!
4 medium Heirloom carrots (regular carrots will work too, I just love the colors of the heirloom)
2 medium sweet potatoes or yams
1-2 Tbsp of avocado oil, EVOO or coconut oil
Pinch of garlic salt
2 tsp Italian seasoning
Tip: Add broccoli, cauliflower, beets or any other veggie that holds well at high heat for 20 minutes.
Preheat oven to 420o. Wash veggies, pat dry, and chop into 1-inch pieces. Toss veggies in oil and spices to evenly coat. Roast for 12 minutes each side, or until they’re done to your liking. Enjoy!
